It has just hit me that I never formally made an announcement on this blog about our move so....We're Moving!
Long story short, Jay took a job at a hedge fund in Chicago and we are heading back to the Midwest. It all happened very quick and came out of the blue as we were not interested in leaving Hong Kong just yet, but we are excited for the adventures that lie ahead.
Jay's last day at CNS was end of March and after one month of Gardening Leave, he started working for his new company May 1st. My last day at work is June 15th and then I will have a week to travel to Burma with my friend Annie and pack up our apartment before we move.
On June 22nd we will pack-up and send our shipment to the states with the movers, and on the 24th we will put Prince on a flight to Chicago and we will hop on a flight to Chicago via New York. Yes, Prince is getting to fly direct to Chicago and we could only get a flight with a layover. Lucky pooch.
When one finds out they are moving, they make a bucket list for the city they are leaving. Our bucket list included one last trip to Hanoi as we had never been to Vietnam, and eating as many dumplings as we can. I've also made final trips to the Stanley Market on the Southside and the Jade Market in Yau Ma Tei. We are going to make a trip to my tailor in Shenzhen this week, and will pop into our favorite restaurants Chili Fagara and Kyoto Joe's a few more times as well. Lots to fit in before June 24th!
