Groomsman Bio:  Tarik Ibrahim

Tarik was one of the first friends of Jay’s that I met after we started dating.  He was finishing up med school in Philly and visited Jay one weekend before starting a major study surge for exams.  My first impression of Tarik: he was a happy guy and a smiley guy!  And that impression turned out to be a true description of Tarik’s personality as he is truly a great guy.  He has always been extremely friendly and chivalrous to me and humors me when I ask him 1001 questions about brain surgery and how his hospital compares to the one from Grey’s Anatomy (sorry Tarik). 

Tarik visited us in Hong Kong June 2009 after a whirlwind trip through China and Thailand with Nick Clark, and we had a good time.  Tarik learned some key words in Chinese and was the most polite American, saying "Nihao" (hello) to everyone woman he met.

We are excited to be living near Tarik in Chicago and will do our best to get him to hang out with us instead of studying for his boards.

About Tarik:

Tarik grew up in Grosse Pointe, Michigan with Jay, Rob, and Nick.  He is a Neurosurgeon completing his residency at Loyola Hospital in Chicago and says that the medicine on Grey’s Anatomy isn’t accurate, but the level of drama is. 

From Jay:

Tarik has been an amazing friend to me.  He is hard working and we are all so proud of his accomplishment in pursuing his dream to become a neurosurgeon.  He is also one of my wittiest friends.  He has shared many life-changing experiences with me in Chicago, New York, Hong Kong, and Thailand.  Tarik has taught me a lot.

Many will be surprised to learn that he is a cat person.  He will be the one that Jay hassles for ambien prescriptions!
